These have been kept fresh in cold storage and have been allowed to gradually dry out in their shells since our October 2024 harvest. They have taken on a richer and more sweet pine flavor as the nuts have lost moisture and condensed in their shells since last fall. Expect a more flavorful, but also more varied in texture (chewy and crunchy), pine nut experience than the traditional, fresh-picked pine nuts we offer at the beginning of each harvest season.
Our softshell pine nuts are hand-harvested in their cones in the mountains of Utah and Nevada. They are cleaned and sorted for quality, but otherwise, this is a 100% raw, wild-grown product.

I learned to eat pine nuts from my father when I was a young girl. I forgot about them until I recently. I ordered the soft shells from The Pine Nut Stand and it was just as good as I remembered.

Not same as my previous order ..somewhat dried nuts
These are from our previous years harvest. The nuts definitely dry out in their shells throughout the season. Some people love them more than the fresh one's, however, it's definitely a matter of opinion.
We'll have our fresh 2025 harvest by mid October at the latest and we would be more than happy to send you discounted nuts.
